Christopher Anderson

Image
Christopher Anderson's photographs to me are very unique and they feel very real as if I am there. The texture that each photograph provides feels so real as if I can almost touch it and feel as if I am there. Not only is each photo unique and different in its own way but they also have different types of emotions behind it. You can see the emotions within the picture that make you feel a certain way. The face expressions that each person provides in the photos make the picture that much better to look at and admire. I am very impressed with the photos that he has to showcase. It's crazy to think that cameras have that much power to make a photograph feel so real and as if you can feel/touch them through the photograph. His photographs make me want to become much better at taking pictures. His photographs are very detailed and they inspire you to look at the picture more thoroughly with more thought behind it.

David Lebe

Image
When looking a David Lebe's photographs they are all very unique and different when looking at each one. The thing that catches my eye mostly about his work is his light drawing portraits. Not only does it include the actual figure itself within the picture but he also draws light that goes well with the photo. It makes the image pop put more and gives it more meaning than if it was just the original photo itself. What's unique about his light drawing ones is that he has some in black and white like the image down below and on his site he has some in color. In my opinion I think the images in color look better but that's because it catches my eye most. When looking at most of his light drawing images it makes me excited for this next assignment because drawing light on certain images gives it a whole new perspective. The poses that David uses and the added light makes the images pop out a lot more. It gives the images a new vibe. It's cool to see how light can cha...

Martina Lopez (Constructed images)

Image
Martina Lopez is a photographer who has a unique way of showing of different images such as portraits. What I find most unique about her images are the memories that it creates. By this I mean it makes you look at the images as if those who've you lost in life are at peace. It doesn't always have to deal with someone who looks at peace but the images that she uses each have a different background that flows with the image itself. It makes you look at the image for a longer duration in my opinion because of how unique/cool it looks. Most of the images that she uses look like paintings or portraits that were taken in the early 1900's. This just goes to show how developed our technology is now and days to be able to take something old and place any background you want with the image. Instead of the image being by itself and being plain the backgrounds add more of a story to it that you can try to guess what it means. It makes the image look more appealing and interesting to l...

Robert Mapplethorpe (Self Portraits)

Image
Robert Mapplethorpe's photographs are very unique and are all very different from one another. He has different types of photographs that he produces on his website. He has self portraits, male nude and female nude portraits, still life, flowers, and color along with other different categories. The first thing that catches my eye when looking at his different pictures are how lively they look. It almost makes you feel as if you're there in that exact moment in real time. The pictures feel so alive that you can almost touch it in a sense. With each picture that you see, every image has a different and unique pose that you don't see on an everyday basis. He makes each picture have meaning and is interesting to look at. Most of his portraits and self portraits are done in black and white which gives it an old era feeling/look which makes the picture more interesting to me. He makes his self portraits look different as compared to just taking an ordinary picture of your...

Matthew Rolston (Portraits)

Image
Matthew Rolston is photographer who also works with videos as well. When looking at all of Matthew's photos the one thing that you will notice is that all of the people that he takes pictures of are famous people who are actresses, actors, or singers. They are well known through publicity. When looking at all the images the first thing that catches my eye when looking through all of his photos are the lighting that he uses for each image. He really knows how to make a certain image pop and make it come to life. Every portrait is different especially when it comes to the individual. He finds poses that suits the individual best in my opinion. Also, I like the different colors that he uses in some photos. It really makes certain pictures pop more especially with how good he is when it comes to the lighting that he uses. Not to mention the different facial expressions that he makes the individuals use definitely makes you look at the pictures differently. They give certain images pow...

Still Life (Paulette Tavormina)

Image
Paulette Tavormina is a still life photographer who uses her images to try and mimic seventeenth century old master still life painters. When looking at her work most of her images are of flowers or fruits. The images look as if it was a painter who painted it. It makes you think of every flower you have ever seen or makes you think as if you're in a garden. That's what makes her pictures unique in my eyes. It makes you look at things from a different perspective. It allows you to imagine things that you would have never thought of when looking at fruit or flowers or whatever image is taken. The image below caught my eye the most when looking at some of her work. The skull with the vines around the head used as a crown gives me old century vibes such as a queen. When I first saw this image it instantly made me think of Pirates of the Caribbean. The way that she captured the bubbles was also unique. When looking at this image it goes to show you can really capture anything that ...

Lee Friedlander

Image
Lee Friedlanders photo's to me all give me early 1900's vibes because they are all done in mostly black and white. I like that most of his photos are done in black and white because it gives the photo a different feel. It makes you look at the photo differently as compared to if it was in color. With most of the photos that he has taken he turned them from nothing into something. The way that he can make a photo unique is very interesting to me. The photo down below that he took is where I go on vacation just about every summer in Yosemite. When looking at this picture it brings back a lot of memories and makes me picture myself as If I'm actually there. That is what I think a lot of his photos do when looking at them. The different types of photos that he takes are those things that you would see everyday but he is very creative with how he makes the photo appear. It makes you look at it in way that would have never looked at it before. This just goes to show that you wal...
